INSTRUCTIONS
Task 3: Type Exploration and Application
For this task, we were told to develop a font that is intended to solve a larger problem or meant to be part of a solution in the area of our interest be it graphic design, animation, new media or entertainment design, or any other related area.
Type Exploration
So I start by making my proposal for my font.

After getting my feedback from Mr. Vinod I decided to go with the Kawi script as my inspiration and make my font.
After finishing my font, I uploaded them to FontForge and downloaded the font for my next task.
Application
For application, I want to create a book cover about Kawi scripts.
I made another application which is a workshop poster. I used the axial system for my workshop poster.

FEEDBACK
Week 10
General Feedback: Think about the application for this task.
Specific Feedback: Don't try to make the Latin letter look like the Kawi letter font. Make the Latin letter reflects the script.
Week 11
General Feedback: Start to think about the application. Specific Feedback: Fix the letter S, V, W, X, Y, and Z. Make the edges less sharp and be careful of the curvatures and it looks very crude.
Week 12
General Feedback: Provide a link for the downloadable typeface, in the final compilation too.
Specific Feedback: The application must be something related to Kawi Script.
Week 13
General Feedback: Try testing out the application first before doing the mockup.
REFLECTIONS
Experience
This task took way too long for me to finish. I was quite struggling with thinking about what kind of applications should I make for this task. In the end, I ended up with the poster idea which is kind of similar to the first task.
Observation
I see that a lot of applications can be made by using typography and it was pretty nice to look at my classmates' works.
Findings
I found that thinking critically before taking action is very important. I wasn't really thinking hard enough when I was trying to make the application.
FURTHER READING
Reading this book was really useful as it did a quick recap on the previous lesson that I learned.
