INSTRUCTIONS



Invisible Set Extension

To start this task, I had to create a mood board which consist of the idea for the task, and reference images. So I decided to go and make a Sci-Fi city.

I collected the inspiration images and added ideas on what I want to add on the task later on.

After getting the feedback I need to remake my mood board and add more stuff inside like the direction, concept art, and color palette.

I picked Cyberpunk as my art direction and used their city as reference which resulted in creating the concept art.

After getting another feedback, I had to pick a base plate. So I picked 2 images for my base plate.

After getting more feedback, I decided to go with the second one and make some changes to the concept art. Then I added the elements like the buildings into my plate. I also tried to add light and shadow to the plate. I also did the sky replacement on the plate.

Mr. Kannan said that the windows on the buildings need to be adjusted accordingly since the size of them varies according to the distance. He also said that he wants me to add another building to block the tower because it doesn't look that good with it there. I also have to add more stuff in there and make some amendments to it. After finishing the changes the work is ready for submission.

FEEDBACK

Week 10
If you look at any references a city will have a rhythm. If a building is further behind it needs to be lighter to show depth. if its closer its thicker. Find my baseplate (any city) and do the matte behind it.

Week 11
Min 3 different structures. adjust lighting, and ambient. Make use of the vanishing point. maybe add a highway / he wants to see more!

Week 12
Better but blurry. The window is bigger when closer. Enhance it by picking any color.

REFLECTIONS

Photo bashing is a method that I never heard of and I was quite unfamiliar with how it works so I had to watch some videos and tutorials online to understand more about it. With the help of the previous task, I get to do it better I think. Overall this task is quite fast to be learned and I was able to do it quicker than I thought.

She showed us her sketch in Photoshop and taught us about panel arrangements, camera angles, compositions and etc.  After sketching several panels we then proceed to a lecture session with Ms. Anis. For the lecture, Ms. Anis presented us with how to make comics.  To startup making comics, we need to come up with an idea. To get ideas, we can get it from our experiences.
