LECTURES
During our fifth week, Mr. Fauzi presented to us about conceptual poster design.
Conceptual Poster Design
Poster is a conventional medium to convey information to the target audience. Poster can be cluttered or straightforward. If too many colors, fonts, images, or animated figures are involved in conveying information or message, it can confuse the viewers.
The power of posters in generating awareness on an issue or conveying a brand message and luring the audience into buying products or services is immense.
Public Service Announcement (PSA)
Public service announcement is a message in the public interest disseminated without charge, with the objective of raising awareness of, and changing public attitudes and behavior towards, a social issue.
Creative posters where meaningful information comes wrapped with striking pictures and images.
Creative poster is made up of four key features:
- Title
- Graphic
- Text
- White space
Layout, flow and color affect the order and style of these four key features.
Title
Title
The title is a descriptive indicator of the contents of the poster, and it should not exceed two lines of text.
Text
Text should clearly describe the message clearly but not overloaded.

Text should clearly describe the message clearly but not overloaded.
Graphic / Photo
Graphic must appear in context within the main text. High-resolution image (300 dpi or higher) is recommended

White Space
White space creates 'breathing room' within the poster, which can help the viewers to avoid feeling overwhelmed by the information being presented.

Flow
Flow coordinates with how the reader's eyes move around the poster.

INSTRUCTIONS
For this week's exercise, we were doing a photo manipulation exercise. Mr. Fauzi gave a video about the tutorial on how to do this exercise. Using the images given by Mr. Fauzi and following the tutorial by Mr. Martin I was able to do my exercise and this is my result:

Besides this, we were also asked to create the same thing but using our own picture to recreate the same photo manipulation

Summary
Intro: During the pandemic, a lot of things have happened that affect people’s daily life. It either affects people’s work or even their mental health. Some people have been used to the pandemic, but some aren’t. Many people have been struggling with their mental health as the pandemic goes on. The effect on social distancing can cause loneliness, stress and anxiety as they feel isolated from everyone.
Paragraph 1: Stress has been a common thing that people face. Young people to old people will experience stress. Stress can cause a serious mental health problem. The effect of stress can also worsen your chronic health problems. Stress can cause difficulty in concentrating / making decisions, difficulty in sleeping/having nightmares, and can increase the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other substances. Stress is a natural thing that people face, but there are many ways people can manage with stress. Paragraph 2: Stress can be coped by doing healthy things. To avoid having stress during social distancing we can always connect with others so that we won’t feel isolated / lonely. Other way to cope with stress is so take care of our body. Try on doing exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep, and try to eat on healthy and well balanced foods. Another way is to avoid the media and stop listening or looking through the news about pandemic which may upset yourself. Lastly, try on avoiding alcohol, tobacco, and other substances.

Mr. Fauzi also gave us another task about poster design. For this week we were told to research our topic for our poster design. We were told to find 3 poster references, write a summary about the topic and highlight the key points of our summary.

FEEDBACK
There is no feedback given on week 5.
REFLECTIONS
This week's exercise is a bit different than the others. We get to know even more features that are inside the software and get to experiment on it. It wasn't really that complicated of a task but it is enjoyable at the very least. I did this exercise quite fast and I was able to follow the instructions given by Mr. Martin. For my poster project, it took me some time to research stress during a pandemic, but it was worth the time for gaining extra knowledge about it. I had trouble filling up the key points so I will try to do it maybe after I get some feedback from Mr. Fauzi.
